“Just see what he has to say…” those would now be my famous last words before everything in my life changed.
Hi, my name is Kelly. I’m on the adventure of my life, and I want to share it with you! A couple of months ago, my husband and I uprooted our entire existence to move from Michigan to Norway. It was spontaneous, exciting, and terrifying. If you would have told me last spring that I was about to leave my career of nearly 8 years, sell my house, leave behind my family, and move halfway around the world, I would not have believed you. At all. Yet, here we are. Life is funny like that, and the unexpected and unplanned aspects of life are the best parts.
Right after my husband and I were married, he accepted a travel job in Alaska. He would commute from the mitten to Alaska every 3 weeks for 3 weeks at a time. It was a wild ride but this became the foundation of our marriage. He lived in the Arctic for half of the year and while we tried to maintain as normal of a life as we could, it was not easy. After nearly 5 years of that whirlwind, he left his job in Alaska. Within a week of him starting a new job in Michigan, he received a call that we didn’t know would have ripple effects on our life. “Hi David (hubs),…. We are starting a new project in Norway and want to bring you on board….” or something to that effect. Dave looked at me like a deer in headlights, and after I picked my jaw up off the ground, I said, “just see what he has to say…”
Prior to our move I worked in the art and retail industry. Professionally, I have experience in writing, business, management, and merchandising. My educational background is in apparel design, merchandising, and art. My passions are fueled by creativity and the creative process and working taught me how to run a business. I have always been a dreamer and have a list of 1,000 dreams and ideas that I want to pursue but haven’t had the chance, time, or energy to do so… until now. I am in a unique time in my life where I can actually pursue the dreams I never had the time or energy to do so before.
And that is where my blog comes into play. I’m bringing you along for the ride as I live this adventure and this will be my space to share the details of my life. I will talk about our adventures, living abroad, creative outlets, cooking, traveling, and life in Norway and beyond. Thank you so much for being here!
